Message
from the President December 19, 2007 Dear TEFL Graduates, On behalf of all of us at The Boston Language Institute, I wish you and your loved ones health, happiness and prosperity as we celebrate another holiday season and New Year ahead. Our TEFL family continues to grow, total membership now exceeding 1000, and we are grateful for each and every one of you. The Institute has had, in fact, many successes to be thankful for this year. In recent months, we have been featured in the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, the Boston Globe and Channel 7 News, the local NBC affiliate. We are becoming a go-to organization for the national press on language related issues as we have long been for the local press in New England. Furthermore, MIT’s Sloan School of Management has once again chosen the Institute’s MBA Preparatory Program to provide intensive English language and culture training to selected foreign MBA candidates. The program, which takes place in June, has been a prerequisite at Sloan for 5 years and draws students from other prestigious MBA programs as well. On a personal note, I am once again preparing to take my family to Florida for our semi-annual yoga retreat, a week of meditation, reflection and regeneration. (www.3HO.org). I am also participating this year in the LeadBoston program sponsored by the Boston Center for Community and Justice. In the 2007-2008 program, 52 members of Boston’s business, non-profit, journalistic and legal communities are exploring issues of community and justice with the goal of making tangible contributions to Greater Boston. (www.bostonccj.org) Since the founding of The Boston Language Institute nearly 27 years ago, it has been integral to the company’s mission to serve the community at large. The LeadBoston program is a logical extension of our commitment and I am excited at the prospect of the Institute’s long-term involvement. As I said at the time of your program, The Boston Language Institute’s commitment to client service does not end when the program ends. We hope to have the opportunity to serve even more of you over time and are eager to hear your news. Photographs are especially welcome. God bless you.
