Message from the President

Dear TEFL Grads,

It is my pleasure to send you warm wishes for your health and happiness and that of your loved ones in the New Year. I have specific fond memories of many of you and am grateful that each of you chose to take The Boston Language Institute's TEFL Certificate Program.

Your number now exceeds 700 and the program continues to excel in the midst of change. Program Director Myrna Norris and Program Coordinator Catherine Rogerson (June 2003) have both moved on with our wishes for their continued success and our gratitude for their contributions to The Boston Language Institute.

Catherine, interestingly enough, found the most satisfying aspect of her work at the Institute in her involvement with incoming students and has found a position in the admissions office of the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy that focuses on that aspect. It is gratifying for all of us at the Institute to see our graduates evolve into unpredictable and creative careers as a result of our program.

I am excited to announce that Kym Perkins, a TEFL trainer for the past three years and most recently Senior Trainer, is our new Director of English Language Programs. Kym, a March 2002 graduate of the program, brings twenty-four years of international training and teaching experience to the position. Michael Balger (June 2004) has taken the baton from Catherine as Program Coordinator and brings to the role his own welcome brand of enthusiasm and commitment to excellence. Owen Plant, approaching his ninth year at the Institute, Aga Bourret and Jeff Martin continue to expand and expand the program as trainers, Aga now promoted to Senior Trainer.

Many of you stay in touch; we hope that even more of you will do so. Please let us know how and what you are doing. Pictures are always welcome.

God bless you.
